Dr. Rachel requires caregivers to have a short phone consultation prior to scheduling their first therapy appointment. During the phone call Dr. Rachel will assess whether your child's needs are a good fit for the type of services Dr. Rachel provides. During the phone call you will also receive more information about what to expect in therapy, and you will get an opportunity to ask any initial questions. If you would like to move forward with therapy, you can schedule an initial appointment over the phone.
Consultation calls can be scheduled by filling out the contact form, leaving Dr. Rachel a voicemail at (480) 422-8522 with your availability, or scheduling a phone consult via the online portal.
Dr. Rachel does not work with individuals with eating disorders, substance use disorders, or trauma as their main concern.
Dr. Rachel does not provide child custody evaluations. Services are not provided in the context of high-conflict divorce or divorce situations with court involvement.
Dr. Rachel can give referrals to other providers in the community who can work with these difficulties.
Initial appointments are about an hour and a half to two hours long. Dr. Rachel will meet with your child along with their caregiver(s) to discuss your main concerns for your child, provide information on practice policies, and answer initial questions. Dr. Rachel will then meet with your child and caregiver(s) individually. At the end of the appointment treatment goals and an initial treatment plan will be discussed.
PLEASE COMPLETE ALL ONLINE FORMS PRIOR TO THE FIRST SESSION.
You can tell your child that therapy is a place where children and parents learn better ways to solve problems, learn about themselves, and feel better. You can share with your child that they will meet with a person who wants to help them. She will ask them questions about what has been hard for them lately, and then will help them find ways to make their lives easier. Sessions often include playing games, drawing pictures, reading stories together, and learning new ways to relax and calm their bodies.
Fees range from $200 - $350 per session.
Please contact me at (480) 422-8522 for more information about fees.
No. Dr. Rachel is a private pay clinician and is not contracted with any insurance companies. There are a few options for payments. All fees are due at the time of service.
Payments can be made via HSA/FSA credit card which deducts funds directly from the Health Savings or Flexible Spending Account. If documentation is needed a “superbill” or “paid invoice” is available on the patient portal after each visit.
Upon request, a “superbill” is created and provided over the patient portal. This “superbill” contains Dr. Rachel’s identification information, service codes, diagnostic codes, and payment amounts. You may then submit this to your insurance company toward any out-of-network benefits, deductible, or reimbursement.
If you choose not to seek reimbursement, no superbills are created and services/diagnoses are not reported to any insurance company.
Not at this time. Although Dr. Rachel has experience conducting psychoeducational evaluations for ADHD, Specific Learning Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and other cognitive impairments she does not currently offer these services.
No. Psychologists do not provide medication. Dr. Rachel can provide referrals to appropriate prescribers if needed. If your child is already taking medication(s) Dr. Rachel will work closely with your prescriber in order to coordinate care.
