It can be challenging to be a kid in today’s world. Watching your child or teen navigate this ever-changing world while also struggling with anxiety, fear, sadness, emotional dysregulation, or other psychological difficulties is often overwhelming and heartbreaking. Seeking extra support for your child through psychotherapy is a great way to equip both you and your child with new tools and skills that can help make life easier and more enjoyable.
Dr. Rachel provides a nonjudgmental and safe space that allows youth and their families to find ways to make life easier. Therapy is a place for kids to build coping skills, process feelings, develop a better understanding of themselves, solve problems, and create positive behavior change. Dr. Rachel also works with caregivers to find solutions that will fit their child's unique personality and respect their family values.
Dr. Rachel utilizes evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), and other techniques. Her approach is solution oriented and practical. She supports children, teens, and parents to help them find practical solutions that work for them and take action. Youth will learn coping strategies that will empower them to more effectively deal with life stressors.
